About me
I now live at Mt Crosby at the edge of Brisbane and am working on jobs in south east Queensland and Papua New Guinea.
Mt Crosby was the site selected in 1890 for the pumping station to supply Brisbane’s water. The settlement resulting from
the station's construction was made in waves of houses for the workers, firstly in the 1890s and then in the 1920s and 40s.
We have added to a one-off 1935 cottage. I am very fond of the settlement which, to my mind, demonstrates that good standard
house types have happily accommodated many life stories over the generations and continue to do so.
The work seen in this website shows a concern on my part to distil my ideas about construction, especially relating to
locally gained knowledge, leading hopefully to a fluency of expression in the buildings, both public and private.
