Column capital detail

This is a water colour painting by Kaylee Wilson of the cast iron column capital that connected the round columns to the triple flitched bearers of the office block. The columns have opposing wedge steel straps to prevent splitting and to deal with shrinkage. (reference - Greene and Greene). They are stained red to cope with beetle nut expectoration!
