By the crater lake
I first saw the crater lakes , Eacham and Barrine on the Atherton Tableland in the early 80s.
They are very deep and primeval in feeling, with Kauri pines at the edge with their thick blunt branching patterns accentuating this.
The old Teahouse at Lake Barrine (now a residence) reminded me of the work of the Heineman Brothers in Southern California in the 1910s. Bungalow magazines obviously spread the message far and wide.
