Comic Swap - Corner Shop

As a boy over the Christmas holidays at Noosaville, I used to be a heavy user of the comic swap facility at our local shop. That shop is long since gone of course, but this one in North Ipswich survives, albeit now with a secondary specialist use. I've imagined it in an earlier time.

When these buildings were running as general stores, they were best located for prominence, on corners and this is a particularly fine old example of the type. 'Cash and Carries', an early form of supermarket operation, brought to an end all this very local activity.
